wHO WE ARE
The Educational Technology Committee (ETC) is a subcommittee of the Coordinating Committee of Vice-Presidents, Academic (CCVPA). We represent the colleges’ practitioner knowledge-base on matters pertaining to technology-enhanced teaching and learning.
Our strength comes from our breadth of membership. ETC is comprised of members from every Ontario college. They represent individuals involved with digital learning and teaching support in various ways – as faculty, educational technologies, instructional designers, teaching centre managers, and applied research practitioners.
wHAT WE DO

Collaboration and sharing is at the core of what we do and how we work.
The sharing of ideas, practices, and technology-enhanced teaching and learning strategies is a central characteristic of the committee.
Members commit to meet twice a year for general meetings to make connections and discuss what is happening across our colleges. Various activities are also organized that take various forms. These include:
- Virtual Lunch and Learn sessions
- Advancing Learning conferences
- Sip and Share discussion sessions
- Annual Colleges Ed Tech Tool poll and summary report
- Sub-Group Work such as OER Committee and HyFlex Committee
ABOUT OUR LOGO
This new logo is a metamorphosis of the original ETC logo and is inspired by the simplicity of modern design, fused with imagery of circuits and technology. From an educational perspective, it represents flexible learning, providing multiple possible paths to the centre – the desired outcome. As well, it represents collaboration as all the different parts come together to create the logo. The logo is inclusive, with both an English and French design. Lastly, subtly within the logo, are the letters “E”, “T”, and “C” (English) and “C”, “T”, and “E” (French).
